We are seeking an experienced and motivated Store Manager to lead the daily operations of our busy paint and hardware store. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, delivering excellent customer service, driving sales, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring the smooth running of the branch. This role is ideal for someone with previous management experience within the paint, decorating, hardware, builders’ merchant, or trade retail industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the store
  • Lead, motivate, and support the store team
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to trade and retail customers
  • Achieve sales targets and maximise store performance
  • Maintain high standards of merchandising and store presentation
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate stock ordering
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and customers
  • Handle customer queries and resolve complaints professionally
  • Ensure health & safety procedures are followed at all times
  • Support and cover other branches when required
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and reporting
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a management or supervisory role
  • Experience within the paint, hardware, decorating, trade retail industry preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Good organisational and problem-solving abilities
  • Customer-focused with a proactive attitude
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Flexible and reliable
  • POS, IT and stock management skills
Desirable Skills:
  • Knowledge of paint products and decorating supplies
  • Experience working with retail and trade customers
  • Driving licence (preferred but not essential)
