The Role

Following a landmark year of growth, Decom Engineering is seeking a high-calibre Project Engineer to join our team in Marywell. This is a technical leadership role designed for an engineer who thrives on precision, design, and high-stakes innovation. You will take technical ownership of our most complex subsea and onshore campaigns, becoming a lead for our patented, IP-backed technology. At Decom, we don’t just provide tools; we engineer solutions that "cut where others fail."

Strict Candidate Requirements

  • Experience: A minimum of 3–5 years of high-level mechanical and hydraulic design engineering experience, specifically within the offshore or subsea sectors.
  • Project Ownership: Proven experience managing the full project lifecycle—from initial concept and 3D CAD design (Solidworks) through to offshore mobilisation and field execution.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong FEA verification skills and a deep understanding of hydraulic systems.
  • Location: You must be based in the Aberdeen area to facilitate daily collaboration with our workshop and global engineering team.
  • Flexibility: Ability to travel globally, sometimes at short notice, to lead offshore work scopes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership: Act as the technical lead for our subsea Chopsaw range and custom-built equipment.
  • Design & R&D: Create new designs, perform design verification (FEA), and participate in design reviews for new tooling.
  • Project Management: Oversee new builds and live projects, managing costs, timelines, and technical deliverables.
  • Documentation: Create engineering procedures, testing documentation, and technical bid proposals.
  • Field Operations: Become an offshore lead on cutting work scopes, providing technical support to clients during high-stakes operations (e.g., deepwater cuts and precision link-retention systems).
  • Operational Readiness: Undertake the preparation, modification, and testing of equipment to ensure it meets our rigorous "Field Proven" standards.

Why Decom Engineering?

  • Join an elite, fast-growing team delivering high-performing results for major offshore projects across Australia, the USA, Brazil, and the North Sea.
  • Innovation-First: Work with industry-leading, patented subsea technology.
  • Global Impact: Be part of a company shaping the future of decommissioning and IMR.
  • Career Growth: Opportunities for professional development and international travel.

How to Apply

Please submit your CV and a brief technical cover letter outlining your relevant subsea design experience.

Note: We are specifically seeking candidates with a relevant design & offshore engineering background. Applications that do not meet the minimum 3-5 year experience threshold or local residency requirements will not be reviewed.
