Overview

We are looking for an AI & Automation Instructor to work full time to deliver our best‑in‑class Digital Innovation workshops to apprenticeship learners on our Level 4 AI & Automation programme and our Level 3 Gen AI Champion programme. This role is dedicated to the delivery of workshops, delivered between 09:00 - 17:00 GMT. The majority of workshops will be 3.5 or 4.5 hours long (including set‑up and wrap‑up time) with 8 hour hackathon workshops delivered less frequently throughout the programmes. Infrequently you may be asked to work outside core UK working hours due to the global nature of Decoded's client base, for which you may take time off in lieu.

Accountabilities

As an AI & Automation Instructor at Decoded, you will be responsible for:

• Teaching our learning content to groups of apprenticeship learners via virtual workshops.
• Honing your skills as an educator and building your knowledge of andragogy and teaching theory.
• Working with the Learner Success Coaches (LSCs) to ensure learners progress through the programme.
• Contributing to product improvement and content development.

Specific roles & responsibilities

Your specific responsibilities are:

• Workshop preparation and knowledge of content.
• Comprehensively understand the apprenticeship curriculums and learning objectives of our programmes.
• Reviewing exercises and other learning materials before a workshop.
• Learning about your learners and the businesses they work for.
• Familiarising yourself with the course structure and content, proactively filling gaps in your knowledge.
• Maintaining a continual learning mindset and striving to advance your knowledge in your specialist domains.

Facilitation skills

• Timekeeping.
• Classroom management.
• Atmosphere: both professional and energetic, with good energy and engagement level with learners.
• Technical issues using Zoom/Teams, Mural, Menti and other key tools.

Quality of teaching

• Decode and communicate complex concepts and principles with energy, focus and patience.
• Engage and captivate the attention of a virtual room of busy professionals.
• Facilitate the learning journey for your audience, and leave no‑one behind whilst also providing stimulation for advanced learners.
• Enable an inclusive, collaborative, and respectful learning environment.

SME Contribution

• Contributor to training programme development projects by providing SME input and peer review of content.
• Producing materials to support learners with stretch needs, and instructions for technical content to support learning.

Team reporting & structure

You will report into the Portfolio Director for Digital Innovation, in the Product Department.

Subject Matter and Domain Expertise required

• Low‑Code and No‑Code Platforms: Possesses practitioner‑level expertise in enterprise workflow automation tools, with particular focus on Power Automate across cloud and desktop, Zapier, n8n, or Make.
• Applied Generative AI and Prompting: Demonstrates advanced practical knowledge of prompt engineering techniques, including few‑shot prompting, chain‑of‑thought methods, and system instruction design.
• Process Optimisation and Systems Thinking: Understands and applies Lean methodology, process waste identification, value stream mapping, and basic process notation styles. Helps learners map out their manual workflows visually before starting any technical automation.
• Workflow Scripting and Integrations: Coding expertise on extending low‑code platform capabilities using artificial intelligence assistants.

Bonus

• Applied practical knowledge of writing, modifying, and debugging lightweight Python or JavaScript code.

A successful candidate will be expected to achieve the following within 3 months:

• Autonomous management of learning content development deadlines.
• Autonomous management of workshop delivery.
• Confidence to successfully deliver at least 80% of our Apprenticeship workshops.
• An overall Learner Feedback score +8/10.
• An overall Teacher KPI score of 75%.

Day to day

This role can be delivered fully remote, provided the working location has consistently reliable Wifi for workshop delivery. The Decoded office in Shoreditch, London is available to all Decoded employees for non‑workshop delivery work. Your working hours will be 09:00 - 17:00.

Learning and progression

We run a dedicated learning calendar to hone craft skills in teaching, leadership, strategy and other relevant disciplines. Performance reviews and feedback mechanisms for teaching will ensure you are recognised and rewarded for the value that you bring to Decoded.

Salary

£40,000-£50,000 per annum
