The Role: As the Health, Safety and Sustainability Manager, EMEA, you will deliver pragmatic, compliant, and business-aligned health and safety support across all EMEA offices, retail locations, and distribution centers. You’ll work closely with Retail Operations, HR, and other cross-functional teams to ensure all sites operate safely, efficiently, and in accordance with regional legal requirements. You’ll also drive the sustainability agenda, embedding a strong environmental ethos and ensuring compliance with ESOS and other environmental requirements.

Your Impact:

  • Lead the delivery of health & safety compliance and best practice across all EMEA offices, retail stores, and distribution centers.
  • Drive consistent and legally compliant health & safety standards, ensuring risk management, audits, training, and corrective actions are delivered efficiently.
  • Oversee duty of care within third-party distribution centers, ensuring partners uphold Deckers’ safety expectations.
  • Work with the global Sustainability team to embed environmental responsibility and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Advocate practical, best-in-class health & safety standards, balancing risk with operational and commercial realities.
  • Stay current on legislative requirements and proactively interpret changes into actionable guidance.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the H&S management system, ensuring accessibility and alignment with business needs.
  • Develop and lead the EMEA Health & Safety function, building team capability and fostering a high-performing culture.
  • Influence stakeholders by framing H&S initiatives in terms of business impact, operational efficiency, and risk reduction.
  • Conduct audits, ensure corrective actions, and manage mandatory training programs across all EMEA teams.
  • Partner with HR and Occupational Health to implement recommendations that support employee wellbeing.
  • Manage H&S budgets, track spend, and provide transparent reporting.
  • Coordinate with regulators, manage contractors, and ensure standards meet Deckers’ expectations.
  • Use environmental performance data to inform decisions and continuously improve sustainability practices.

We would Love to Hear from People with:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in retail/wholesale environments in both UK and EU.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK and EU health & safety legislation, with practical application across a diverse EMEA environment.
  • Experienced in using health & safety data and incident reporting to identify risk and drive improvement.
  • H&S Qualification (NEBOSH or similar).
  • Knowledge of European H&S and sustainability requirements, not only UK.
