We're looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to own and grow our London & South East England territory. This is a high-profile hire, London is our smallest patch geographically but the largest pathology outsourcing market in the UK, and we need someone who can walk in and make an immediate impact at Trust and Network level.
Responsibilities include:
- Taking on a genuine hunter-farmer role: growing an existing account base while relentlessly pursuing new business across Pathology Networks, Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), NHS England, and NHS Trusts.
- Identifying and developing new business opportunities across London & South East England, converting market opportunity into new accounts and expanded case volumes.
- Engaging senior executive stakeholders across Pathology Networks, ICBs, NHS England, and NHS Trusts, building credibility and trust at Director and C-suite level.
- Leading the development of proposals and presentations to win new business and partnerships.
- Developing and executing your own outbound sales strategy and territory plan.
- Growing existing accounts expanding case volumes and service scope within your current customer base.
- Owning daily CRM hygiene and pipeline integrity in HubSpot, keeping data accurate and reporting actionable.
- Staying ahead of regional market trends, including the National Cancer Plan and the NHS pathology transformation agenda.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years' field-based Business Development / Sales experience in the UK healthcare services industry.
- Proven experience engaging senior executive stakeholders across Pathology Networks, ICBs, NHS England, and NHS Trusts, ideally selling into an NHS diagnostic setting.
- A track record of genuinely growing a territory or account base, not just managing what's already there.
- Strong CRM discipline (HubSpot or equivalent) with real attention to detail in pipeline tracking.
- Comfort operating with a high degree of autonomy, and confidence building relationships beyond your usual comfort zone.
- A full, clean UK driving licence, and willingness to travel extensively (50%+ of your time) across the territory, and occasionally within the UK and EU.
Desirable:
- Experience in digital pathology, diagnostic imaging, oncology, or academic medical centres.
- Software/service sales background (rather than pure capital/hardware sales) is a strong advantage.
This is a unique opportunity to make a difference in the emerging Digital Pathology field.
We offer competitive annual leave, a chance to work on exciting, challenging and unique projects, regular performance feedback, and significant career growth opportunities.
All qualified applicants will be considered for employment without regard to age, race, religious beliefs, political views, gender identity, affectional or sexual orientation, national origin, family or marital status (including pregnancy), disability, membership of the travelling community or any other classification protected by applicable law.
