Counter Associate - 'The Ordinary' - Selfridges, Oxford Street in London

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a flexible customer service‑oriented Counter Associate to join our extraOrdinary team at Selfridges, Oxford Street, to deliver memorable experiences to our customers. Experience in the retail, department stores, or luxury industry is highly desirable, especially in fragrance, beauty, fashion, and luxury goods sectors. Position: 30‑hour per week, part‑time.

WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE

• Greet all customers who enter the store with enthusiasm and professionalism, reflecting DECIEM’s vision through excellent service.
• Determine the customer’s needs and suggest relevant products by listening and sharing product knowledge acquired during brand training.
• Ensure standards for quality, customer service, and health and safety are met.
• Adhere to the DECIEM experience and deliver unparalleled customer service; educate customers about the world of beauty and skincare, DECIEM brands, and products.
• Manage customer feedback and queries.
• Assist in maintaining counter standards of cleanliness and organization.
• Help maintain DECIEM’s merchandising concepts and ensure tidiness standards are respected.
• Conduct product refunds and address customer issues in a positive manner.
• Build meaningful relationships with department managers and clients, maintaining high‑standard communication.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Comfortable engaging customers and applying products while providing consultations.
• Ability to multi‑task while providing professional and outstanding customer service.
• Strong desire to spread brand awareness.
• Effective time‑management and communication skills.
