The primary function of the Director, Marketing Category Lead Dermatology position is to lead all marketing efforts and planning, as well as P&L responsibility for their assigned category, and will also have responsibility for market development for pipeline products. This is a remote role and can be located anywhere within the continental United States.

Role Responsibility

This role has a broad and varied scope and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

  • Leading the Business, developing and delivering the 1 and 3-year strategy and financial operating plan for the assigned category in partnership with medical affairs counterparts.
  • Defines end-to-end category and brand strategies (including competitive positioning, VHT, retail, distribution, corporate accounts, pet owner, etc.) in partnership with medical affairs counterparts.
  • Leads ongoing financial planning and product forecasting for the respective category.
  • Maximises brand performance: P&L management, brand forecasting, pricing & GTN by TA/Brand.
  • Prepares and presents performance reviews and business updates to Senior Management on a quarterly basis.
  • Develops a deep understanding of market trends, competitive landscape, and key drivers of brand performance.
  • Determines resource allocation across all customer and promotional channels.
  • Ensures alignment across marketing, sales, and medical affairs (creates teams and forums for engagement, strategy discussions, competitive intel sharing).
  • Collaborates with Corporate, Retail, and Distribution on forecast by channel, which feeds into the overall brand forecast.
  • Builds and collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of end-to-end strategy.
  • Collaborates with GTME strategy.
  • Engages with DPS to optimise forecasting and supply plans.
  • Partners with GTME on commercial lifecycle planning efforts.
  • Provides input and support on Business Development evaluations.
Leading People

Assesses and coaches individual and team performance to exceed business goals. Coaches and directs Marketing Managers in developing comprehensive marketing objectives, strategies, and plans, and in identifying and including key stakeholders throughout the process. Actively coaches direct reports to optimise their performance and develop their capabilities for advancement and future opportunities. Fosters an environment where coaching and feedback are open, ongoing, and consistent. Leverages talent and resources across the marketing team and across the business.

  • At least 10 years of related experience and a proven record demonstrating successful branding, strategy development, and communications management.
  • Strong financial analysis skills and proven ability to manage budgets and expenses.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in developing and executing brand strategies, forecasting, programs, and tactics to achieve and surpass market share and revenue targets.
  • Strong business acumen with a demonstrated understanding of business strategy and development.
  • Ability to build and manage a Profit & Loss (P&L) Statement.
  • Have a strong executive presence and excel at communication.
  • Embraces change and views challenges as business opportunities.
  • Demonstrated success working in a global, complex organisation across marketing and sales.
  • Self-starter who thrives in an environment of change with a high volume of multiple priorities.
  • Ability to travel as required – often up to 40% for industry conferences, professional meetings, and collaboration with key internal/external stakeholders.
