  • Maintenance Engineer - Electrical Bias

Full‑time role with a rotating weekly shift pattern – Earliest/lates (0600‑1400 / 1400‑2200), every 5th Friday off. GMP Manufacturing, Skipton.

Overview

As Senior Engineer, you blend hands‑on expertise with technical leadership, helping drive reliability, compliance and continuous improvement across a fast‑paced, GMP‑regulated environment.

Responsibilities

Day‑to‑day you will

  • Optimize PPM schedules for production assets.
  • Lead root‑cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Respond to breakdowns and validate line performance post‑repair.
  • Oversee calibration activities and close out QMS actions.
  • Collaborate with Production and QA to maintain smooth operations.
  • Champion continuous improvement by spotting opportunities and driving change.
  • Support the Maintenance Manager and deputise as required.

Qualifications

  • Electrical bias with strong troubleshooting capability.
  • Familiarity with production equipment: filling lines, conveyors, packaging lines, autoclaves, tablet presses, granulators, WFI systems, heat sterilisers.
  • Strong planning and organising skills.
  • Time‑served engineer (Electrical 60%, Mechanical 40%).
  • PLC experience and good understanding of electrical systems and standards.
  • 18th Edition Electrical City & Guilds.
  • Experience leading RCA and implementing long‑term corrective actions.
  • Background in GMP or other regulated environments.
