Full‑time role with a rotating weekly shift pattern – early/late shifts (0600–1400 / 1400–2200). The 5th Friday of each month is off. The role is based at GMP Manufacturing in Skipton. We are looking for an engineer who thrives on solving complex problems, keeping high‑performance equipment running at its best, and being the technical go‑to person on site.
As a Senior Engineer you will blend hands‑on expertise with technical leadership, driving reliability, compliance, and continuous improvement across a fast‑paced, GMP‑regulated environment. You will play a central part in shaping the performance of our production assets – particularly electrical systems, controls, and automation.
Your day‑to‑day responsibilities include:
- optimising PPM schedules
- leading root‑cause investigations
- responding to breakdowns
- validating line performance post‑repair
- overseeing calibration activities
- closing out QMS actions
- collaborating with Production and QA
- championing continuous improvement
- deputising for the Maintenance Manager
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Electrical bias with strong troubleshooting capability
- Knowledge of production equipment such as filling lines, conveyors, packaging lines, autoclaves, tablet presses, granulators, WFI systems, and heat sterilisers
- Strong planning and organising skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, listening)
- Time‑served engineer (Electrical 60 % Mechanical 40 %)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an engineering or maintenance environment
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Experience leading RCA and implementing long‑term corrective actions
- Background in GMP or other regulated environments
