About Decho (part of Accenture): Decho is a deep data and AI consultancy founded on an innate desire to create real-world change. We are consulting engineers with a purpose, offering a ‘boots on the ground’ approach to complex public and private sector challenges. As a trusted Palantir partner and part of Accenture, Decho helps clients to extract the most value from their technology. Being part of Decho means working at the cutting edge of Palantir technology and harnessing its capabilities with purpose. Our teams are united in their mission to be drivers of positive change in the world’s most influential organisations. This includes strengthening our advantage in the defence, infrastructure and public safety - empowering more public and private institutions to unlock their full potential.

The Role: As a Senior Managing Engineer - Forward Deployed, you will operate with high individual, team(s) and client(s) ownership. You will be accountable for the strategy across your deployed client engagement(s). Leading engineers who design solutions that unify complex data landscapes, build workflows that drive smarter decisions and partner with organisations to deliver sustainable transformation. Working directly with your clients, you will be the face of Decho, requiring a unique blend of high emotional intelligence (EQ) and technical mastery to navigate complex environments and drive programme outcomes. You and your deployment(s) will have creative freedom to architect solutions, working iteratively to build fast, demonstrate work to clients and refine it based on real-time feedback.

What You'll Do:

  • Strategic Delivery: Take full ownership of client problem set discovery and business analysis. Accountable for strategic advisory, programme design, horizon mapping and change management. Significant ownership of enduring and successful relationships with clients.
  • End-to-End Delivery: Lead your deployment team(s) to drive significant overarching ownership of client problems, handling everything from deep data engineering knowing that may require low/no code Palantir Foundry tooling, or Python and PySpark code repos - to building user-facing front-end applications and widgets in TypeScript or REACT.
  • Lead Client Advisory: Sit directly alongside clients, goals and requirements and translate complex technical language into stakeholder appropriate communication.
  • AI Integration: Actively embed AI workflows into existing applications using cutting-edge tools like AIP Logic Functions, AIP Analysts, and AIFDE.
  • Decho Labs Innovation: Contribute to Decho Labs to build tangible internal products. Feed your deployment learnings back into the company so our engineers learn from our success and we create compounding assets of value internally and for our clients.
  • Innate Collaboration: Strategic overview and delivery of deployment(s) driving engineers across self-assignment of taskings, participation in our 'show and tell' culture through teachbacks and tech reviews and uplift colleagues and wider Decho community through our highly active internal support channels.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Strategic mindset: Demonstrate an exceptional level of client relationship management alignment to high level decision making individuals, alongside your technical understanding and natural leadership.
  • Problem Solvers: You navigate complex and nuanced client environments at ease. We care more about your ability to drive strategic outcomes across complex use cases and architectural solutions than rote memorising of coding syntax.
  • Expert in multiple core languages: (Python, SQL, TypeScript and/or REACT) and the capability to understand others. You are an expert across complex data engineering principles, ETL pipelines and application development, setting standards and creating lasting solutions.
  • Experience and/or familiarity with Palantir (Foundry, Gotham, or AIP similar).
  • High EQ.
