Decho is a deep data and AI consultancy founded on an innate desire to create real-world change. We are consulting engineers with a purpose, offering a ‘boots on the ground’ approach to complex public and private sector challenges. As a trusted Palantir partner and part of Accenture, Decho helps clients to extract the most value from their technology. Being part of Decho means working at the cutting edge of Palantir technology and harnessing its capabilities with purpose. Our teams are united in their mission to be drivers of positive change in the world’s most influential organisations. This includes strengthening our advantage in the defence, infrastructure and public safety - empowering more public and private institutions to unlock their full potential.

The Role: As a Senior Consulting Engineer - Forward Deployed - you will operate with high individual ownership and support empowering Consulting Engineers. You’ll design solutions that unify complex data landscapes, build workflows that drive smarter decisions, and partner with organisations to deliver sustainable transformation. Working directly with your clients, you will be the face of Decho, requiring a unique blend of technical mastery and high emotional intelligence (EQ) to navigate complex environments. You will have creative freedom to architect solutions, working iteratively to build fast, show your work to clients and refine it based on real-time feedback.

What You'll Do:

  • End-to-End Delivery: Take significant individual ownership of client problems, handling everything from deep data engineering knowing that may require low/no code Palantir Foundry tooling, or Python and PySpark code repos, to building user-facing front-end applications and widgets in TypeScript or REACT.
  • Client Advisory & Translation: Sit directly alongside clients and translate complex technical language into stakeholder appropriate communication.
  • AI Integration: Actively embed AI workflows into existing applications using cutting‑edge tools like AIP Logic Functions, AIP Analysts, and AIFDE.
  • Decho Labs Innovation: Contribute to Decho Labs to build tangible internal products. Feed your deployment learnings back into the company so our teams learn from your success and we create compounding assets of value for internally and for our clients.
  • Innate Collaboration: Responsible for self‑assignment of taskings, actively participate in our "show and tell" culture through teachbacks and tech reviews and uplift your peers through our highly active internal support channels.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Problem Solvers: We highly value individuals who can navigate nuanced client environments. We care more about your ability to decompose complex use cases and architect solutions than rote memorising of coding syntax.
  • Fluency in 1 or more core languages (Python, SQL, TypeScript and/or REACT) and the capability to pick up others quickly. You should understand data engineering principles, ETL pipelines, and application development.
  • Familiarity with Palantir (Foundry, Gotham, or similar) is preferred but not mandatory provided you have a strong willingness to learn.
  • High EQ & Curiosity: The emotional intelligence to understand client expectations, a proactive self‑starting nature and the humility to know you don’t know everything and search for and accept help.
  • Impact‑Driven Communication: The ability to present impressive demos, simplify complexity for non‑technical users, and focus on delivering genuine client impact.

Life at Decho: We foster an open, low‑ego culture built on merit, where professional strides are formalised through weekly all company sessions. All levels of our business are highly visible and accessible to everyone. We have a vibrant engineering community that connects through regular socials and interest‑based Slack communities, creating opportunities to learn from one another and share what we love outside of work.

Equal Employment Opportunity Statement: We believe that our rich diversity makes us more innovative, more competitive, and more creative, which helps us better serve our clients and our communities. All employment decisions shall be made without regard to age, race, creed, color, religion, sex, national origin, ancestry, disability status, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetic information, marital status, citizenship status or any other basis as protected by federal, state, or local law.
