Overview
As our Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for leading the management and upkeep of our Northampton Distribution Centre, ensuring all building systems, site services, and facilities operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with UK Health & Safety and environmental regulations.
Responsibilities
- Manage facilities and maintenance of building systems and services within a distribution centre.
- Adhere to all regulatory, environmental and Health & Safety requirements ensuring legal compliance to UK laws and legislations.
- Ensure site facilities are well maintained and manage planned preventative maintenance schedules.
- Plan and oversee operational site renovations or refurbishments, engaging, managing and monitoring relevant contractors.
- Source and oversee contracts and service providers, identify and research potential new suppliers and manage facilities/maintenance budgets.
- Deal with site maintenance/facilities emergencies as they arise.
- Manage MHE fleet on site, taking ownership of the internal FLT management system.
- Manage external Cleaners and Security personnel on site and management of waste.
- Work in collaboration with multiple stakeholders.
- Engage with, support, and liaise with the operational management team.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience within a warehouse environment.
- Proven experience in facilities management within a warehouse or industrial environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer literacy and experience with management systems.
- Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills.
- Solid knowledge of workplace health and safety (NEBOSH qualification preferred).
- Valid driving licence.
- Flexibility to work across different shifts as required.
- Facilities Management, Property Management, or a higher national degree equivalent experience.
- CDM regulation certification is preferred but not essential.
- Significant relevant Facilities Management experience in budget responsibility.
