About the Role

Senior Software Engineer on the Sync Learning & Impact squad responsible for architecting and delivering coach-to-learner and coach-to-manager interaction systems that drive learner retention and demonstrate apprenticeship ROI. Lead technical direction, mentor mid-level engineers, and ship high-quality full-stack features using React and TypeScript while integrating AI-assisted development tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and deliver large, complex features from conception to production, balancing speed and system health.
  • Own the technical strategy and roadmap for your domain and lead trade-off decisions.
  • Mentor and elevate mid-level engineers to Feature Lead roles, increasing squad delivery capacity.
  • Produce clean, extensible full-stack code and set the team standard for quality.
  • Partner closely with Product Managers and Designers to refine requirements and ensure user-centered outcomes.
  • Integrate AI-assisted development tools into workflows to accelerate delivery and reduce repetitive work.

6-Month Focus

  • Architect the foundation for ambiguous coach-to-manager domains where no roadmap exists.
  • Mentor team members and standardize practices for scale.
  • Audit and evolve use of Elixir, React, and TypeScript and establish consistent engineering patterns.

Requirements

  • Senior-level experience building full-stack web applications; demonstrated technical leadership.
  • Expert-level depth in React and TypeScript; Elixir experience is a plus.
  • Strong system design and architectural experience; familiarity with event-driven patterns is beneficial.
  • Proven mentoring and collaboration skills; ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable shipping imperfect solutions quickly, iterating based on data, and making decisions amid ambiguity.
  • Experience or willingness to adopt AI-assisted development tools in daily workflows.
