About the Role

Senior Content Designer owning product voice, terminology, and content standards across Epicor's enterprise software products, including AI-driven experiences. The role defines microcopy and conversational/system-generated content, leads content audits and pattern libraries, and partners with product, design, and engineering to make complex workflows clear and trustworthy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain content standards across the product portfolio: UI copy, microcopy, in-app messaging, error and empty states, onboarding flows, tooltips, and contextual help.
  • Own product voice and terminology frameworks to ensure consistency across product lines and between human- and AI-generated content.
  • Design content for AI-driven experiences: agent responses, conversational interfaces, system-generated summaries, smart suggestions, and autonomous workflow notifications.
  • Partner as an embedded member of product teams with Product Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers from problem framing through shipped outcomes.
  • Lead content audits and information architecture work to reduce cognitive load and eliminate jargon in complex enterprise workflows.
  • Create and maintain content guidelines, pattern libraries, and writing documentation for the broader design and product organization.
  • Advocate for plain language and clarity in technical domains and contribute to design critiques with a content lens.
  • Mentor other designers on content thinking, helping them improve UI copy, flow structure, and the language layer as a design material.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience in content design, UX writing, or content strategy with shipped work in enterprise software, B2B SaaS, or complex workflow-driven applications.
  • Portfolio demonstrating the ability to make complex, jargon-heavy domains legible to real users.
  • Strong understanding of how content and interaction design work together; ability to treat words as part of flow, not afterthoughts.
  • Experience defining voice, tone, and terminology standards for products or portfolios.
  • Ability to write across contexts: microcopy, long-form guidance, error messages, onboarding sequences, and system-generated content.
  • Active AI fluency in content practice: using AI tools for drafting, variation testing, content audits, and terminology analysis; clear judgment about when AI output is acceptable.
  • Clear communication and collaboration skills; ability to advocate for word choices effectively.

Preferred / Nice to Have

  • Experience designing content for AI-driven products (chatbots, copilots, agent-generated summaries, autonomous notifications, conversational interfaces).
  • Hands-on experience with agent-assisted development or “vibe coding” using tools like Cursor, Claude, or Copilot to prototype content-rich interfaces and test copy in working code.
  • Familiarity with AI agent protocols such as MCP and how agent behavior affects content and trust.
  • Experience in enterprise domains such as manufacturing, distribution, supply chain, or logistics, or the ability to learn operational domains quickly.
  • A pragmatic, fail‑fast mindset: testing copy in context, measuring comprehension, and iterating based on user behavior.

You will shape how Epicor communicates with its users across complex operational workflows and AI-driven features, raising clarity, trust, and consistency across product surfaces.
