Are you a reliable and dedicated driver with a passion for making a difference? DEBRA, a national charity supporting individuals and families affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), is seeking a Van Driver to join our logistics team in Orpington.
Location: Orpington/Logistic, Contract: Permanent, Salary: £24,733.80 per annum, Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week (usually Monday to Friday). Please note: DEBRA reserves the right to vary these days, from time to time, in accordance with the changing operational needs of the charity.

The Role: Van Driver
As our Van Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and professional operation of our collection, delivery, and distribution system. Based out of our Orpington/Logistic area, you will be the face of DEBRA, interacting with the public and ensuring vital goods are moved efficiently to support our charitable activities.
What We are Looking For:
- A full, clean UK driving licence is essential.
- A presentable appearance and a personable, friendly manner.
- Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting, including safe manual handling of goods.
- A commitment to health and safety best practice, including compliance with LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations) 1998 and the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent DEBRA professionally at all times, upholding our values.
- Ensure the efficient and professional collection, delivery, and distribution of goods.
- Safely load and unload the van, maximising space utilisation while adhering to vehicle weight specifications.
- Carry out heavy lifting in accordance with UK safety regulations and risk assessments.
- Maintain accurate records of all deliveries and collections.
- Keep the DEBRA van clean, tidy, and well-maintained, conducting regular vehicle inspections and promptly reporting any faults.
- Ensure the vehicle undergoes scheduled servicing.
- Adhere to all relevant road safety regulations and UK driving laws.
