DEBRA is recruiting for a Head of Business Services to join our friendly and supportive Head Office Team, on a Full Time/Part Time Contract, working a contract of up to 35 hours per week, earning a salary of £40,000-£45,000 per annum (FTE). This role is based in our Head Office, Bracknell, Berkshire, RG12 8FZ (Office Based).
About DEBRA: We are a National Charity that supports individuals and families affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), a painful genetic skin blistering condition which, in the worst cases, can be fatal.
What we are looking for in our Head of Business Services: The Head of Business Services is a senior operational and governance role, responsible for ensuring that DEBRA's retail operation and the business support functions underpinning it run efficiently, compliantly, and to the highest standard. The postholder will lead and co-ordinate the Business Services team, providing critical operational support across stores, eCommerce, new goods, estates, and health and safety. Acting as a key link between the Director of Retail and Trading, the wider retail field teams, and head office functions, this role ensures that the infrastructure underpinning the retail estate is robust, well-governed, and continuously improving. The role carries two further organisation-wide responsibilities: governance of DEBRA's commercial contracts, Store Operations and Administration and Board and Senior Leadership Team Support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Retail Administration Assistants and Volunteer Assistant, ensuring effective workload management, performance, and professional development.
- Co-ordinate all retail administration and volunteer support activities across the retail division.
- Manage commercial contracts, maintaining the Contracts Register, monitoring renewals and compliance, and ensuring procurement and governance requirements are met.
- Oversee estates and health & safety administration, ensuring statutory records, compliance documentation, and property-related administration are maintained.
- Manage operational administration for the retail estate, maintaining procedures, records, communications, and supporting Area Managers and store teams.
- Provide administrative oversight for eCommerce and new goods operations, supporting reporting, processes, and performance monitoring.
- Support the Director of Retail and Trading with Board, Committee, SLT, and Retail Area Meeting administration, reporting, and governance documentation.
- Ensure retail policies, procedures, and processes remain current, compliant, and accessible, driving continuous improvement and operational efficiency across the function.
