This role is on a Part Time, Permanent contract working 21 hours per week over 3 days, earning a salary of £24,000- £27,000 per annum. This role is based in our Head Office, Bracknell, Berkshire. RG12 8FZ (Hybrid working).
About DEBRA: We are a national charity that supports individuals and families affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) – a painful genetic skin blistering condition which, in the worst cases, can be fatal.
Your Key Responsibilities as an Executive Assistant:
- Provide end-to-end administrative and governance support to the Board of Trustees, Chair and board committees (e.g. Finance, Audit & Risk, Nominations & Governance).
- Coordinate the annual cycle of Board and committee meetings, working closely with the Chair and senior leaders to ensure effective planning and forward agendas.
- Draft, quality-check and manage the circulation of Board and committee papers, ensuring accuracy, clarity, version control and timely distribution.
- Prepare high-quality agendas, minutes and action logs, ensuring decisions are clearly captured and follow-up actions are tracked through to completion.
- Provide confidential, trusted EA support to the Chair, the CEO and SLT (as required), including diary management, preparation for meetings and briefings, and proactive follow-up.
Person Specification:
- Significant experience in a senior Executive Assistant, Board Secretary, or Governance support role, ideally within a charity, public body or regulated organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to use AI-enabled tools to support the accurate and efficient preparation of meeting minutes and written documentation.
- Demonstrable experience supporting boards or committees at executive or trustee level.
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage complex diaries, competing priorities and long-term planning.
- Proven ability to draft clear, accurate and professional minutes and formal documentation.
- High level of discretion and integrity, with demonstrable experience handling confidential and sensitive matters.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to liaise effectively with Trustees, senior leaders and external stakeholders.
- Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
