The role: The Intake Auditor is an important role in ensuring that Boohoo Group products meet defined quality standards set by Product Technology/ Product Safety & Compliance and ensuring that products held out for sale are safe, fit for purpose and legally compliant in the markets in which we retail, by conducting merchandise inspections and audits and supporting the Senior Intake Auditor on a day to day basis.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Conduct post shipment inspections, and targeted audits generated by returns analysis and customer complaints, of materials, components, and finished products to ensure they meet established quality standards, to verify product quality.
  • Identify and document defects, inconsistencies, or deviations from quality standards with clear and concise descriptions.
  • Record inspection results accurately and promptly in designated systems or forms, generating detailed reports for communication.
  • Ensure products adhere to industry regulations, standards, and safety guidelines, staying updated on relevant requirements.
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams including production, design, and sourcing to address quality concerns and provide feedback.
  • Assist in identifying root causes of quality issues and work with relevant teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in training programs to improve inspection skills, stay updated on quality control practices, and support professional development.

About you:

  • Proven experience in quality control within the fashion or apparel industry.
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, textiles, and manufacturing processes.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent observational and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently, follow guidelines, and adhere to established procedures.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a commitment to product quality improvement.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and standards related to product quality and safety is advantageous.
