At Debenhams Group, we are on a journey of transformation, revitalising our brand, culture, and connection with colleagues and customers alike. In a fast-changing retail environment, effective and authentic communication is vital to building trust, aligning our teams, and amplifying the impact of our work across internal and external audiences.
We are looking to hire an experienced Video Editor (Post-Production) to be part of Debenhams’ Video Department. We are a high-performing team producing fast-turnaround, high-quality content across major brand campaigns and social-first outputs. This role will be based out of our central Manchester office.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
You will play a core role in how our brands show up visually, delivering hero campaign films as well as high-volume social content that keeps us current and competitive across our channels. Following a period of structural change, brand repositioning, and workforce transformation, you should thrive in a busy environment with multiple edits moving at once, can problem-solve in the edit, and bring strong post-production craft to elevate the work. You’ll be one of the final checkpoints before content goes live, so attention to detail and pride in finish really matters.
- You’ll own post-production across our major seasonal campaigns, shaping edits, suggesting improvements, and ensuring everything is finished to a high standard.
- Creating social cutdowns and delivering multiple formats/sizes for site and OOH, keeping messaging consistent across placements.
- Managing tight timelines and uploading edits to Frame.io for review by internal stakeholders & responding to feedback quickly, keeping versions organised, and driving projects through to final delivery.
- You’ll be part of a team running weekly social content days, turning around edits quickly for review within the week.
- Keeping the team up to date on post-production best practices, sharing tips, workflows, and improvements that raise quality and efficiency across the department.
- You’ll also proactively share ways of improving your area of expertise within the team (workflows, shortcuts, templates, finishing standards) to improve quality and speed across the team.
- You’ll work closely with the Creative and Social teams to make sure requirements are clear, feedback is actioned properly, and final content lands as intended across every channel.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
- Strong problem-solving with the ability to rework footage creatively to improve story, pacing and clarity.
- Great time management and organisational skills.
- Confident with motion graphics (social-friendly typography, transitions, simple compositing).
- 5+ years’ editing experience (fashion/retail is a plus, not essential).
- Strong working knowledge of Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, plus After Effects.
