At Debenhams Group, we are on a journey of transformation, revitalising our brand, culture, and connection with colleagues and customers alike. In a fast-changing retail environment, effective and authentic communication is vital to building trust, aligning our teams, and amplifying the impact of our work across internal and external audiences.
We are looking to hire an experienced Senior Videographer to be part of Debenhams’ Video Department. We are a high-performing team producing fast-turnaround, high-quality content across major brand campaigns and social-first outputs. This role will be based out of our central Manchester office.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
You will play a core role in how our brands show up visually, delivering hero campaign films as well as high-volume social content that keeps us current and competitive across our channels. Following a period of structural change, brand repositioning, and workforce transformation, we are looking for someone who thrives in a busy environment, can lead shoots confidently, and brings strong creative judgement and technical craft to elevate the work.
- Being the shoot lead you’ll plan and deliver shoots across major seasonal campaigns and weekly social content, owning set-ups, coverage, and overall execution on the day.
- Shooting across both studio and location environments, adapting quickly and maintaining a consistent visual standard.
- Responsible for camera operation, lighting and audio capture (where required), ensuring footage is consistently high-quality and on-brand.
- On set you will direct talent/models and work closely with the Creative team to bring the brief to life, balancing pace with performance and detail.
- There will be opportunities to take on end-to-end campaign edits, from shoot through to final delivery, when it makes sense for the project where you want to bring the full vision to life.
- You’ll manage media safely (basic ingest/backup, clear labelling), and hand over footage cleanly for post, keeping projects organised and easy to pick up.
- Working closely with the Creative and Social teams to make sure we capture what’s needed across channels (campaign, social, site, OOH).
- Help keep the team updated on best practices across production, kit, techniques, on-set workflow, and ways of working that improve quality and efficiency.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
- 5+ years experience as a videographer (fashion/retail/ecom is a plus, not essential).
- Confident leading shoots in fast-paced environments with multiple moving parts.
- Strong technical knowledge across camera, lighting, and basic audio.
- Great organisational skills: shot lists, file management, and managing time on set.
- Strong creative eye for composition, movement, and storytelling.
- Comfortable collaborating with multiple stakeholders and taking feedback well.
- Strong communicator ensuring clear updates, confident in giving/receiving feedback, and able to manage stakeholders calmly.
- Familiarity with Canon camera systems is a plus (we have these in-house), but not essential.
