This is a full-time or part-time position. The Care Assistant will provide person-centered support to individuals in their homes, including assistance with personal care, hygiene, dressing, and medication prompts in line with care plans. Daily responsibilities include supporting with meal preparation, light household tasks, and mobility, while promoting independence, safety, and comfort. The role also involves offering companionship, actively listening to individuals’ needs, and communicating any changes in health or well-being to senior staff. Care Assistants are expected to maintain accurate records, follow company policies and procedures, and uphold high standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and safeguarding at all times.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills to build trust and rapport with individuals, families, and colleagues.
  • Experience or training in caregiving, including assisting with personal care and daily living activities in a respectful and person-centered way.
  • Knowledge or experience of dementia care, with an understanding of how to support individuals living with cognitive impairment sensitively and safely.
  • Competence in manual handling techniques, with an understanding of safe moving and handling practices and use of relevant equipment.
  • Ability to work reliably, follow care plans, and maintain accurate documentation and records.
  • Willingness to undertake relevant training and professional development (e.g., Care Certificate or equivalent).
  • Basic understanding of safeguarding, health and safety, and confidentiality in a care setting.
  • Valid right to work in the UK and ability to travel to service users within the Claydon and surrounding areas as required.
