Attendance Liaison Officer

Responsibilities
- Engage with families to assess reasons impacting students’ attendance and ensure parents are aware of statutory responsibilities.
- Apply knowledge of attendance laws and compliance requirements.
- Promote a positive attendance and punctuality culture within the school.
- Create and use data to identify patterns of absence at an individual student level, providing information to leadership and staff.
- Offer direct support to parents/carers of students with attendance issues.
- Follow up on students’ absences to improve attendance, communicate effectively and build relationships with families, staff and outside agencies.
Qualifications & Skills
- In-depth knowledge of attendance and related legislation.
- Ability to work independently, with strong organisational skills and the capacity to perform under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to deal firmly and authoritatively with parents/carers.
Experience
- Experience working with families and conducting home visits is an advantage.
Additional Requirements
- Holder of a valid driving licence to carry out home visits.
