The Role
- Matching internal cashbook records with bank statements and resolving discrepancies
- Preparing and issuing invoices across multiple entities within the group
- Processing and reconciling card transactions (debit and credit)
- Monitoring incoming payments and accurately posting them to the system
- Handling deposits of cash and cheques
- Managing customer accounts, including issuing statements and chasing overdue balances
- Keeping financial records organised, accurate, and up to date
- Assisting other departments with finance-related queries and tasks
- Stepping in to support colleagues within the finance team when needed
- Encouraging adherence to internal purchasing procedures
- Spotting inefficiencies in current processes and contributing ideas for improvement
The Candidate
We’re seeking someone who is enthusiastic about finance, enjoys working with data, and takes pride in accuracy. This role would suit someone keen to develop professionally within a dynamic environment.
Requirements
- Be currently studying (or planning to study) AAT, CIMA, or ACCA
- You have previous experience in a finance or accounts-based role
- Be comfortable working with large datasets and financial systems
In addition, you’ll bring:
- Solid Excel skills (e.g., formulas, data handling)
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- The confidence to interact with colleagues and stakeholders across the business
- A positive, team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn
Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 per annum (Dependent on experience)
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week - Hybrid working
Holidays: 25 days holiday + statutory bank holidays
Other: Study Support, pension, free parking
