Debbie Burbage Recruitment is delighted to be working with an established SME based in Daventry. This standalone role would suit a “hands-on” individual with strong Excel skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and previous management accounting experience, including HMRC submissions and entry transactions. Initially starting on a temporary basis, with the view that the “right person” will transition to a permanent employee.
The Role:
- Prepare monthly management accounts with clear analysis and insight to support decision making.
- Take full ownership of budgeting and forecasting processes, including detailed variance analysis.
- Manage month end close, including journals, prepayments and accruals.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
- Carry out stock reconciliations and ensure accurate inventory reporting.
- Process purchase ledger invoices and manage supplier payments as part of a hands on finance function.
- Process sales ledger invoices and lead credit control activities to ensure timely collection of payments.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with HMRC requirements.
- Monitor cash flow and support financial planning activities.
- Analyse financial performance and provide recommendations to improve efficiency and profitability.
- Support year end process.
