Debbie Burbage Recruitment is delighted to be working in partnership with an established and growing business based in Daventry, who are now seeking a dedicated and experienced Bookkeeper to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.
The Role
As a Bookkeeper, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the smooth running of the business. You will be responsible for the day-to-day finance operations, as well as supporting the preparation of monthly accounts and providing meaningful financial insight.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing sales and purchase ledgers
- Processing invoices, payments and receipts
- Bank reconciliations
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Producing monthly accounts for review
- Preparing accruals and prepayments
- Posting journals
- Financial analysis and reporting
- Managing credit control processes and maintaining strong customer relationships
- Monitoring and managing cashflow
- Maintaining accurate financial records
- Supporting with payroll where required
- Liaising with external accountants
The Candidate
You will have proven experience in a similar bookkeeping or finance role, with strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. You will be confident in preparing monthly accounts, including accruals, prepayments and journals, and comfortable working independently while managing your own workload. You will have good knowledge of accounting software and be confident using Excel, including pivot tables, lookups and SUMIFs, to support analysis and reporting. You will also have experience in credit control and cashflow management. Alongside your technical skills, you will bring a positive and proactive approach, a willingness to support the wider team, and strong communication skills.
Remuneration
Salary: £32,000 - £35,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Holidays: 25 days plus statutory days
Other Benefits: Pension, on-site parking
Within easy travelling distance of Northampton, Rugby and Southam
