Role Overview

We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic Shop Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in serving customers, maintaining shop presentation, and supporting the daily operations of the bakery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and serve customers in a polite and professional manner
  • Take customer orders accurately and process payments (cash and card)
  • Prepare and package baked goods for display and sale
  • Replenish stock and ensure displays are attractive and well-presented
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the shop area
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures
  • Support the bakery team with light food preparation tasks if required

Skills & Experience

  • Previous retail or customer service experience preferred (but not essential)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Friendly, approachable, and positive attitude
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic numeracy skills for handling payments
  • Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene & Safety for Catering preferred (but not essential)
