Role Overview
We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic Shop Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in serving customers, maintaining shop presentation, and supporting the daily operations of the bakery.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and serve customers in a polite and professional manner
- Take customer orders accurately and process payments (cash and card)
- Prepare and package baked goods for display and sale
- Replenish stock and ensure displays are attractive and well-presented
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the shop area
- Assist with opening and closing procedures
- Support the bakery team with light food preparation tasks if required
Skills & Experience
- Previous retail or customer service experience preferred (but not essential)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Friendly, approachable, and positive attitude
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic numeracy skills for handling payments
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
- Level 2 Food Hygiene & Safety for Catering preferred (but not essential)
