Department: Dispute Resolution / Landlord and Tenant

Are you looking to start or develop your legal career in a supportive and dynamic environment? We’re seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Legal Assistant to join our growing landlord and tenant team, working within the busy Landlord and Tenant sub-team. You’ll play a key role in supporting Partners and Solicitors on a variety of property-related matters, including lease extensions, enfranchisements, and both pre- and post-completion work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the management of a busy caseload, including pre- and post-completion tasks such as issuing documents, making Land Registry applications, accounting for monies, and progressing matters to billing and closure.
  • Conducting searches, applications and responding to requisitions at the Land Registry.
  • Managing client matters and maintaining diary entries for specific tasks.
  • Drafting simple legal documents such as letters, certificates, and licences.
  • Monitoring client ledgers, processing invoices, billing, and preparing Completion Statements.
  • Liaising with clients and third parties to keep them updated on progress.
  • Maintaining and updating case management systems to ensure accurate records.
  • Providing general administrative support, including filing, photocopying, and drafting correspondence.
  • Opening files and handling client care matters, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements.

About You

  • Previous experience in Dispute Resolution, conveyancing or lease extension/collective enfranchisement is preferred, but a law degree is not essential.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage a busy diary and work methodically.
  • A positive, “can-do” attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and confidence in liaising with clients.
