A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Onboarding Legal Assistant to support our Personal & Medical Injury (PMI) department on a full-time basis at our Brighton/Hove office. Reporting to the PMI Partners, you will manage new business enquiries into the firm and provide comprehensive administrative support to the department. You will be an integral part of the team from day one.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for new business enquiries coming into the firm.
  • Keeping accurate records of new enquiries and providing timely updates to partners and fee earners.
  • Ensuring information, documents and correspondence relating to cases are processed quickly and accurately as directed by fee earners, including appropriate use of the Firm’s case management system.
  • Attending to clients both on the telephone and in person, ensuring accurate messages are passed on without unnecessary delay.
  • Making appointments, arranging meetings and maintaining an up-to-date diary for the fee earners.
  • Assisting in the preparation of management information and marketing documents in respect of new business enquiries.

The successful candidate will be well-organised, careful and conscientious, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines. You will be a confident, friendly and flexible team player with a can-do attitude and the initiative to help fee earners deliver a quality service to clients. You will be able to evidence excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, as you will be liaising with clients on a regular basis. A good grasp of the English language and a sound working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook are essential, along with a genuine interest in legal matters and a clear understanding of the need for confidentiality.

Please note this role involves contact with clients who have disabilities, as well as with courts, barristers, experts, solicitors and insurers, frequently on confidential and sensitive matters. A high degree of professionalism, trust and discretion is required at all times.
