The Survey Manager will take responsibility for the production and control of earthworks models using N4CE, supporting live civil engineering projects across the region. You will oversee a team of six surveyors/engineers, ensuring accurate data capture, model production, and setting out support for site teams. The role is predominantly office-based, working closely with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams to ensure technical accuracy and programme alignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and manage earthworks models using N4CE
- Oversee model build-ups from topographical data and design information
- Volume calculations, cut & fill analysis, and material reconciliation
- Quality assurance of survey data and model outputs
- Manage, mentor, and coordinate a team of 6 surveyors/engineers
- Allocate workload and support ongoing project requirements
- Provide technical guidance on setting out and control
- Liaise with site teams to resolve technical queries
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and best practice
Requirements
- Strong experience in earthworks modelling using N4CE
- Proven background in civil engineering or heavy earthworks environments
- Experience managing or supervising survey teams
- Solid understanding of volume reporting and commercial awareness
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Ability to manage multiple live projects simultaneously
- Exposure to major earthworks or infrastructure schemes
- Knowledge of GNSS, total stations, and machine control integration
