Small Glasgow-based consultancy looking for a Geotechnical Engineer with around 1 year of experience. The role will involve a mix of Phase 1 & Phase 2 site investigations, reporting, and hands-on site work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertaking Phase 1 Preliminary Risk Assessments (PRAs) including desk studies and site walkovers
  • Planning and supervising Phase 2 Ground Investigations
  • Logging soils and rock to BS5930 standards
  • Coordinating and supervising trial pits, boreholes, and in-situ testing
  • Liaising with subcontract drillers and laboratory teams
  • Factual and interpretative report writing
  • Basic geotechnical design input (foundations, earthworks, etc.)
  • Client and contractor communication

Requirements

  • Experience delivering Phase 1 and Phase 2 investigations
  • Strong soil logging and site supervision experience
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, or Civil Engineering
  • Good report writing skills

Desirable

  • Experience working in Scotland
  • Working knowledge of Eurocodes
  • Ambition to progress toward chartership (ICE or Geological Society)
