The Dean Close Foundation is looking to appoint a Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages to join its vibrant MFL Department on a maternity cover basis. This is an exciting opportunity to teach highly motivated pupils in a department known for strong academic outcomes, enrichment, and a genuine passion for languages. This is a full time role, starting in September 2026.
The successful candidate will teach French from Years 9–13 and Spanish up to GCSE (or vice versa), contributing fully to the academic and pastoral life of the School. You will work closely with the Head of MFL and departmental colleagues, supporting the delivery of engaging lessons and the wider co-curricular programme, while maintaining high expectations of pupil progress and wellbeing.
The department offers a rich co-curricular programme, including study tours to Vichy and Salamanca, film evenings, competitions, debates, university links, and language taster sessions.
The successful candidate will be an experienced MFL teacher, who has the ability to teach French and Spanish to A level and GCSE respectively.
