Dean Close Summer School, part of the Dean Close Foundation, is seeking an exceptional Director of Studies (DoS) to lead the academic programme for our 2026 summer provision. The programme runs for four weeks from July 8 – August 5 with international students typically joining for two weeks at a time (either July 8 to July 22 or July 22 to August 5).
As Director of Studies, you will be responsible for delivering a highly engaging and successful academic programme, managing and supporting the teaching team, allocating students to classes after initial placement testing, and ensuring the highest quality of teaching and learning throughout the programme. You will work closely with the Head of Summer School and the Activities Coordinator to maximise opportunities for language learning across the entire timetable. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring visibility, initiative, and the ability to support staff, solve problems quickly, and uphold excellent academic and pastoral standards.

- Experience of working in a Summer School or working with international students.
- TEFL-Q qualification, for example DELTA or DipTESOL.
