We are looking for a Buyer to join our FMCG Trading team in ROI, based at our offices in Clonee, County Meath. The Buyer will be responsible for the buying and supplying of products within the FMCG categories for Dealz. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your buying expertise in a fast-paced, hands-on environment where your decisions make a difference every day to our customers. As a Buyer, you’ll support our Senior Buyer to drive performance across your category (FMCG) - ensuring the right products land in store at the right time and the right price. You’ll manage everything from building category strategies, supplier negotiations and sales analysis to range planning, managing stock levels and sample management.

As a Buyer, you will be responsible for:
- Accountability for performance to the Country Trading Manager, spotting opportunities and threats and resolving issues by working closely with the broader team.
- Purchasing and supply of all products from conception to the bottom line.
- Ensuring products are in line with current and future trends.
- Cultivating and nurturing relationships with suppliers to ensure we can offer customers amazing products at an amazing value.
- Negotiating costs and delivery timescales in line with company budget and KPIs.
- Visiting factories to develop ranges, negotiate the cost of goods, exploring new markets in developing countries/economies.
- Liaising with Merchandisers on the sourcing of product that meets promotional and seasonal activity.
What you’ll need:
- Ideally 3+ years’ experience in a buying-related role.
- Commercial awareness and passion for product.
- Strong Excel and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced retail environment.
- Experience in FMCG or discount retail is a plus.
- Full driving licence as the role involves visiting suppliers on occasion.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage own workload.
