About The Role
The Business Development Manager plays a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and expanding the company’s market presence. This role is responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities, while building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients and partners. Working closely with internal stakeholders, the Business Development Manager will develop and execute effective sales strategies that deliver sustainable growth and long-term value.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Business Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement business development strategies to increase market share and drive sustainable growth
- Collaborate with the executive team to ensure business development objectives align with the company’s overall strategy
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of qualified leads across target markets
- Identify and pursue high-potential clients, partnerships, and contract opportunities
- Lead the full sales lifecycle from prospecting and proposal development through to negotiation and deal closure
- Achieve and exceed sales targets through proactive engagement, relationship building, and effective negotiation
- Client & Relationship Management
- Establish, develop, and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and senior stakeholders
- Maintain regular communication with existing clients to ensure high levels of satisfaction and retention
- Identify opportunities to upsell, cross-sell, or expand services within existing accounts
- Work closely with internal teams, including operations and product development, to ensure client requirements are delivered efficiently and effectively
- Market Insight & Competitive Analysis
- Partner with the Marketplace Director to monitor competitor activity, market trends, and evolving customer needs
- Provide insights and recommendations on new products, services, or technologies that enhance the company’s fleet management offering and competitive position
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven B2B experience within the automotive sector (essential)
- Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a competitive environment
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to analyse data and market trends to inform strategic decisions
- Proficient in CRM systems and the Microsoft Office Suite
- Willingness to travel as required, including occasional overnight stays
- High levels of persistence and drive, with a proactive approach to identifying and converting new business opportunities
- Ability to deliver compelling, persuasive sales presentations to stakeholders at all levels, including C-suite executives
- Strong customer-centric mindset, with a deep understanding of client needs, challenges, and decision drivers
- Strategic thinker with the capability to develop and execute effective sales strategies
- Excellent problem-solving skills, able to navigate complex situations and deliver practical, commercially sound solutions
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail, ensuring efficient pipeline management
