Main purpose of the role

The ITV Insights Group will lead the business in putting insight in every key decision.

For example; What content should we commission?

Which audience is most commercially attractive for us?

How do we optimise our product to improve view through rates?

The answers to these questions and more will enable ITV to succeed in the future.

This role will work closely with the Senior Insight Managers and Head of Central Insights to help shape our understanding of our business.

This role will work closely with cross functional teams to deliver the right insight solutions for our stakeholders.

The role will primarily deliver curated insights but will seek to introduce and champion a multitude of techniques as appropriate (research, analytics and data science).

Specific responsibilities

  • Analysing audience behaviours and providing insight on our viewers to drive business value.
  • Conduct deep-dive analysis to diagnose the underlying drivers of performance fluctuations for both ITV and the wider competitive landscape.
  • Data Storytelling: Translate complex data sets into compelling, visually engaging presentations that “tell the story” of the viewer to non-analytical creative stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely with Data Analysts to drive the automation of performance dashboards and streamline reporting processes
  • To disseminate insights to the benefit of other teams and wider partners in ITV, in a timely way.

This will be via multiple means, including dashboards, automated reports, narratives, slides and presentations.

  • Visually represent data to drive clear business decisions and action.
  • Monitor historic performance trends and highlight variances versus previous years to ensure stakeholders understand the immediate drivers of change.
  • Maintain a deep technical understanding of M&E KPI methodologies to ensure data integrity and accurate reporting.
  • Assist in the development and testing of new metrics, ensuring they are robust and integrated into existing dashboards effectively.

Experience Required

  • 5+ years experience working in Insights
  • Data Analysis & Interpretation: Strong capability in analysing various data sets to extract meaningful insights and trends.
  • Relationship & Stakeholder Management: Proficiency in building and maintaining strong relationships
  • Innovation & Modernisation: Aptitude for embracing change and efficiencies, automating processes, and modernising reporting and projects
  • Project Management: Expertise in overseeing research projects from initiation to completion.
  • Industry Expertise: Understanding of ITV, BARB, Programmes and Viewers
  • Communication & Presentation Skills: The ability to translate complex data and insights into compelling, clear narratives for various stakeholders and clients is essential.
  • Data Visualisation: Proficiency in creating clear and impactful dashboards and reports to effectively communicate performance and trends.
  • Creativity & Innovation: A mindset that fosters ingenuity within the team and drives the development of modern and impactful projects.
