We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join the ITV Insight Group’s analytics function. Embedded across domain-aligned insights teams within the department, our analysts play a crucial role in shaping the business’s understanding of the UK television market, evolving viewer behaviours and future opportunities in an exciting, highly competitive and increasingly complex media landscape.
As part of a cross‑functional team you will partner with business leaders and key stakeholders to understand their challenges and identify and answer the “big questions”. You will work closely with Insight Managers, Data Scientists and Data Engineers to innovate, inform and impact decision‑making. You will sharpen your technical skills to create outcome‑focused insight for your domain while thinking critically and collaboratively to build relationships and create recommendations that balance the requirements of your clients with ITV’s wider strategic objectives.
At Senior Data Analyst level, you will also be expected to take a more proactive role in shaping analytical priorities, identifying opportunities for deeper insight and helping to raise analytical standards across the team.
The team ITV is on a mission to Supercharge Streaming and Optimise Broadcast with data and insight right at the centre of our digital transformation strategy. The business faces many challenges ahead to achieve this vision:
- What content should we commission?
- Which audiences are the most commercially attractive for us?
- What should our marketing strategy be?
- How do we optimise our product to improve view through rates?
- How do we use VOD (Video on Demand) to offset declines to Linear?

Responsibilities:
- Analysing audience behaviours and providing insight on our viewers to drive business value.
- Provision of accurate and insightful analysis on how our viewers engage and consume the nation’s best‑loved and most‑watched content, across broadcast, VOD or SVOD (Subscription Video on Demand).
- Communicating analytics and insight to business stakeholders in a non‑technical, strategically‑minded and impactful manner.
- Promoting and embedding data experimentation and innovation across ITV business domains to drive business outcomes and value.
- Proof of concept analysis to support the implementation of new metrics or segmentation methodologies that ladder up to our KPIs.
- As part of a cross‑functional team, developing and embedding dashboarding solutions for business stakeholders, enabling a culture of self‑service analytics.
- Evaluating performance of content, release strategies and marketing and product experiments.
- Making recommendations for future tests and next steps.
- Collaborating with subject matter experts in a range of disciplines, including Insight Managers, Data Scientists, Analysts and business stakeholders to drive projects forward.
- Developing forecasting and predictive analytics solutions to support planning and performance management across key business KPIs.
- Identifying proactive opportunities for analysis, innovation and experimentation that strengthen the Central Insights function and deliver new business value.
- Supporting analytical best practice across the team, including documentation, reproducibility and high quality standards in analytical delivery.
- Coaching and supporting more junior analysts, sharing knowledge and contributing to capability development across the team.
Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria):
- 3+ years of experience working in data analytics
- Ability to create insightful analysis and dashboards
- Comfortable visualising and presenting analysis across a range of formats
- Experience using SQL to analyse large datasets on Data lakes or EDWs
- Understanding of analytical techniques and statistical concepts
- Experience using Python for analytics, data transformation and modelling.
- Experience delivering complex analytical projects that inform business decisions and drive measurable impact.
- Ability to work independently on ambiguous analytical problems and shape clear, structured recommendations for stakeholders.
- Ability to challenge assumptions, assess methodological limitations and apply appropriate analytical techniques to business problems.
- Experience working with cloud‑based platforms such as GCP (BigQuery)

- Able to understand and challenge assumptions and biases in analytical output, methodologies, models, data sets and recommendations
- Excellent attention to detail and proactive in preventing errors
- Keen problem solving skills and critical thinking
