We’re looking for a Product Designer, Core Experience to join our Streaming, Interactive & Data team. You will play a vital role in shaping how millions of viewers discover, watch, and engage with ITVX. Reporting to the Head of Product Design, you’ll be a key member of a cross-functional product group focused on driving growth across ITV’s streaming ecosystem. As a Core Experience Designer, you will work at the intersection of psychology, data, and UI/UX. Your mission is to help identify friction in the user journey and support high-velocity experiments to eliminate it. You will focus on the “First Mile” of the user experience—optimising the paths that prospect and lapsed viewers take to discover value and convert.
The team joins ITV’s Streaming, Interactive & Data division at an exciting moment of growth as we continue to evolve our streaming experience on ITVX. Our product teams sit at the heart of ITVX, blending creativity, technology, and data to build effortless and intuitive experiences.
Responsibilities
- Hypothesis-Led Design: Contribute to design initiatives from a test-and-learn perspective, using hypotheses and success metrics to guide your solutions.
- Funnel Optimisation: Support the analysis of the end-to-end user journey—from discovering to converting to view content—identifying drop-off points and proposing solutions.
- Rapid Experimentation: Design and prototype A/B and multivariate tests, balancing quick “scrappy” versions for learning with polished designs for scaling.
- Behavioural Design: Apply principles of behavioural economics (like grouping content into recommendations and personalisation) to drive user activation and retention.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Managers, Data Analysts, and Engineers to help prioritise the experimentation backlog and interpret user behaviour.
- Full-Stack Execution: Execute the design process from low-fidelity wireframes for rapid testing to high-fidelity, polished UI across Mobile, Web, and Connected TV (CTV).
- Growth Patterns: Support our Design System by developing reusable components for onboarding, upsells, and cross-sells.
Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)
- Proven Experience: Strong experience in a Product Design (UX/UI) role, with a portfolio showing impact on user journeys.
- Content discovery and Conversion Familiarity: Experience or a strong understanding of content discovery and conversion funnels.
- Multi-Platform Expertise: Solid design skills across iOS, Android, and Web platforms.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced Figma and prototyping skills; ability to create interactions that bring designs to life.
- Agile Collaboration: Experience working within Agile or Squad-based environments alongside Engineering and Data teams.
Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)
- An experimental mindset, comfortable testing ideas and learning from results.
- Data-informed thinking; the ability to use insights from dashboards to inform design solutions.
- A strong interest in user behaviour and understanding the “why” behind user actions.
- Ability to balance speed with quality, knowing when to move fast and when to focus on pixel-perfect detail.
- Effective communication skills to articulate the value of design decisions to the team.
Nice to have: Experience designing for Connected TV (e.g., Apple TV, Roku) or motion design experience (e.g., Lottie).
