Workplace: Space Studios, ProVision Manchester – expectation is 5 days in the office. The team ProVision are one of the UK’s leading equipment hire companies, providing Lighting, Cameras, Grips and Sound to the Television and Film industry. Wholly owned by ITV and with bases in Leeds, London and Manchester, we are looking to recruit a Technical Assistant to support us in providing a high standard of service to our ProVision clients.
The role involves the preparation, first line maintenance and stock control of all technical equipment, focusing at all times on providing a high standard of service to all ProVision clients. You will provide a complete technical solution, from day to day running of hire equipment to the preparation of daily additional extras, delivered to the highest of standards at all times as well as delivering ProVision’s vast array of external Drama and Factual productions.
Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria):
- Excellent theoretical and working knowledge of video, audio and grip equipment with the ability to offer technical advice and solutions.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Good communication skills with the ability to deal effectively with all levels of staff and management, verbally or in writing (emails).
- Good computer skills with the ability to use Google Mail, Google Docs and Google Sheets.
- A full manual driver’s licence is essential for driving to various locations in a manual vehicle to collect and deliver equipment.
- This role will involve lifting and carrying large lighting, camera sound and grip equipment.
- Experience working in a customer-focused environment.
- An interest in the TV Industry.
- Preferably previous experience in equipment rental.
- Experience working with visual or audio equipment.

- Willingness to be qualified in PAT testing in order to identify the requirements needed.
