Join the Coronation Street team as a Camera Assistant and help bring iconic stories to screens across the UK.

You’ll gain hands‑on experience, learn from industry experts, and play your part in every frame.

The role

Working across both studio and location shoots, you’ll support the safe and efficient operation of camera equipment and help us deliver high‑quality content.

You’ll work closely with colleagues across production, building strong working relationships and contributing to a collaborative team environment where no two days are the same.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their technical skills and build a career within the camera department in continuing drama.

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)

  • Experience of working in a technical role within television, broadcast, live production or a comparable technical environment, e. g Technical Assistant or Camera Assistant on a UK TV Production.
  • Basic understanding of camera, lens technology, lighting techniques and production technology.
  • Demonstrable understanding of how camera techniques contribute to visual storytelling and audience engagement within television.
  • Proven basic understanding of camera mountings, dolly, track, and cranes.
  • Experience of working effectively as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Demonstrable ability to handle and move production equipment safely. Appropriate training, equipment and reasonable adjustments will be considered where required.
  • Demonstrable ability to work professionally, follow instructions and maintain high standards of conduct in a production, technical or operational environment.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues.
  • Understanding of the importance of confidentiality and professional conduct within a production environment.
  • Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)
  • Understanding of camera and lens technology, including how camera work contributes to visual storytelling.
  • Knowledge of dollies, track, cranes and camera mountings.
  • Health and safety awareness within a studio or production environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt your approach when working with different people and situations.
  • A practical and systematic approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
  • Proactive approach to learning and professional development.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Passion for television production and a desire to develop a career within continuing drama.
  • Full UK Manual Driving Licence (desirable).
