The Lifted Entertainment Department of ITV Studios is a busy department that acts like an Independent Production Company, making programmes for ITV but also for other Broadcasters. Our output includes: I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, Love Island, Love Island All Stars, The Voice, University Challenge, The Royal Variety Performance, as well as new formats and pilots. You will work for and learn from the most creative and talented people in the industry.

The Role: The Department Runner means being a ‘go-to’ person for our very large Department with very busy productions. You will help facilitate the running of the office, be called upon to run out for things needed for shows at the last minute, potentially work on shoots for our shows and you even might be called upon to be a Runner in studio from time to time. You will be passionate about starting a career in Lifted Entertainment and TV production, as we love nothing more than to grow new Talent in our department. For this role you will be based in our London offices at White City. Some flexibility may also be required depending on Production requirements and the role may involve some working from home. The role will be reporting to both our Office Manager/PA to the CCO & our PA to the CEO.

The ideal candidate will have great interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with a range of people in person or on the phone or via email. They may sometimes be working with sensitive information and may also work closely with talent, so their understanding of professional boundaries and retaining confidential information is vital. Travel and working outdoors is a possibility. They should be able to demonstrate good IT skills with knowledge of Google applications.

Duties:

  • To support your line manager and the production management teams and assist with the day to day running of the production office. Including, but not limited to: allocation of desks, booking couriers, ordering stationery, photocopying, distribution of production information and documentation (eg. contacts lists, call sheets, scripts), assist with logistics and meet and greet guests.
  • Helping new starters with passes, laptops as well as raising new user technology requests.
  • Being responsible for maintaining the cupboards and keeping a safe and tidy working environment.
  • Keeping our printers and monitors working and alerting the IT team when they’re not working.
  • Being an extra Runner on some external shoots for our productions helping as an extra Runner on shows in studio.
  • Assist with any ‘running’ between office/location/hotel/base eg. pick up of equipment/props etc.
  • To act as a key point of contact in the production office and on studio/location day.
  • On location and in studio play a key role in looking after and escorting on screen talent and contributors, helping them through the costume/make-up process, ensuring they are kept across filming progress and keeping production informed when they are not on set.
  • The role may require driving to and from various locations to transport deliveries etc.
  • Act as general assistant in the production office, in studio or on location undertaking any tasks as required by editorial or production management colleagues.

Minimum role criteria:

  • Experience of working in a busy production environment or similar.
  • Excellent organisation skills and take working to tight deadlines in your stride.
  • Outstanding time management skills.
  • Being proactive and know how to efficiently prioritise.
  • An effective communicator with the aptitude and ability to deal with logistical problems and find practical solutions.
  • Demonstrates good IT skills with a strong working knowledge of Google applications.
  • Understanding of effective customer service.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with a range of people in person or on the phone or via email.
  • Must hold a full UK driving licence or equivalent as part of a reasonable adjustment where a disability has been disclosed.
