The Deaf Unity Cafe is a monthly meet-up to socialise in BSL. It happens on the second Friday of the month, 6:30pm β 8:30pm at Southbank Centre. Please note: we are open to suggestions for a different regular date.
Responsibilities
- Host the Deaf Unity cafe once a month.
- Take a register of attendees.
- Make sure everyone feels included.
- Support with updating the Facebook group. Post photos and BSL videos to advertise the cafe.
- Use the WhatsApp group to answer questions and share news.
Experience/Skills
- Fluent deaf BSL user.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to engage with diverse groups of people.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Comfortable filming self in BSL to share on social media.
