  • Aircraft Sheet Metal Worker on a full-time basis. As a
  • Aircraft Sheet Metal Worker

, you will support aircraft maintenance by carrying out structural repairs and sheet metal work in line with approved data.

The role will ensure the general workshop is operated in a safe, efficient and compliant manner, in addition you will support general mechanic duties as needed, all within a safety-focused environment.

What we expect from you

  • Manage General Workshop Operations
  • Support Hangar management by performing aircraft structural repair tasks in line with the aircraft repair data provided.
  • Installing, repairing, inspecting and replacing sheet metal components.
  • Accountable for the safe, on-time delivery of structural repairs.
  • Ensure that all repairs meet aviation safety guidelines and safely operate various sheet metal tools.
  • Ensure relevant repair documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Undertake general mechanical duties/tasks in the absence of sheet metal/structures work.
  • Promote a ‘Just’ culture, adhere to company health & safety policies, and report all incidences and occurrences through the safety management system.
  • Complete detailed documentation of work carried out on aircraft.
  • Ensure that all the calibrated equipment and tooling is safely stored, calibrated, labelled and recorded.
  • General housekeeping of shop floors to maintain company standards.
  • Any other reasonable request from management in line with the Sheet Metal worker/Structure’s role.
  • May be asked to deploy short term to other locations in UK and Europe.

What you must have

  • Have completed an Aeronautical Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the field of aviation maintenance, including at least 12 months’ practical experience in the specific area.
  • Thorough understanding of Part 145 (and company MOE).
  • Computer literate including use of Microsoft Office.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to understand work orders, work cards and refer to and use applicable maintenance data.
  • Able to correctly remove uninstalled and rejected parts.
  • Understanding of personnel authorisations and limitations.
  • Knowledge of safety management systems and ‘Just’ culture..

What we'd like you to have

  • 5+ years' experience on aircraft within a civilian base or line maintenance environment.
  • King Air 90/200/300 and Diamond DA42/62 Experience.
  • Human Factors Training
  • SMS Training
  • Experience with ISR Mission Systems and Sensors
