An exceptional opportunity for a commercial sales driven leader to take ownership as Venue Director of one of London's most iconic meetings and events venues. De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms is located in the heart of Covent Garden. With an extensive range of event spaces, rich heritage and a reputation for hosting large-scale conferences, exhibitions and prestigious events, it represents a significant commercial opportunity within the London market.

As Venue Director, hold full accountability for the commercial and overall performance of this iconic events venue, leading revenue growth, market share and profitability. Shape and execute the commercial strategy across Meetings & Events, Corporate and Hospitality segments, ensuring the venue is positioned as a market leader within London's competitive events landscape. Working closely with the Group Commercial Director, and with direct oversight of the venue's General Manager, ensure operational delivery is fully aligned to commercial objectives, driving performance across sales, revenue strategy, client relationships and market positioning.

We Are Looking For

  • A proven track record at a Senior Leadership level role driving revenue growth within a large-scale, premium events venue or similar complex environment with a strong blend of operational and commercial expertise.
  • A robust commercial background, which may include strategic operational leadership (e.g. General Manager, senior sales leadership (e.g. Regional Director of Sales), or revenue management (e.g. Regional Revenue Manager) within a high-volume hospitality or events business.
  • A deep understanding of the London Meetings & Events market, including agency networks, corporate demand and association business.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with expertise in pricing, negotiation and revenue strategy.
  • Exceptional ability to build and influence senior client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience leading high-performing teams in a target-driven, sales-led environment.
  • A strategic mindset combined with pace and a focus on execution.
