Faculty / Directorate

This post sits within the School of Engineering, Infrastructure and Sustainability in the Faculty of Technology, Arts and Culture. The School delivers a wide range of Built Environment courses and research alongside the Leicester School of Architecture.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Deliver high‑quality teaching across BSc Quantity Surveying and Construction and BSc Building Surveying programmes.
  • Shape and develop the new BSc programmes in collaboration with the School.
  • Engage with industry and real‑world professional practice to enrich curriculum and student experience.
  • Contribute to practice‑informed research in the Built Environment.

Ideal Candidate

  • Academic and professional experience in quantity surveying and construction.
  • Knowledge of measurement, estimating, tendering, procurement and professional QS practice.
  • Some teaching experience and familiarity with the UK and international higher education landscape.
  • RICS chartered status or the ability to achieve it within a reasonable period.
  • PhD in a Built Environment context (or impending completion or equivalent practice‑based experience) and capability for independent research.
  • Knowledge or experience of trans‑national education is an added advantage.
