De Montfort University (DMU) is a vibrant, ambitious and inclusive learning institution. We have been awarded the ‘Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence’ from Advance HE for the work around Decolonising DMU and are the first university to receive the silver award in the Race Equality Charter (REC). The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at De Montfort University educates and develops professionals who make a significant difference to people’s lives, health, wellbeing and society. It is home to the Leicester School of Allied Health Sciences in which this post will be based.
You would work as part of a team, primarily delivering high quality teaching and training across a range of programmes. In addition to routine adult or paediatric aural diagnostics and rehabilitation, we are particularly interested in expertise in the areas of anatomy and physiology of the ear and/or acoustics and psychoacoustics. The department has some of the best facilities for teaching audiology and you would be involved in maintaining and developing this area.
You would contribute to teaching and training across our programmes, including developing and creating new programmes and short courses. The role will also involve being a member of the academic placement team, so experience and expertise in professional practice is required.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate should be experienced and enthusiastic about the subject. They should have an all-round grounding in Audiology. Although a postgraduate qualification in Audiology would be beneficial, we are interested to hear from candidates with significant clinical experience, so it is ideal for someone moving into a more academic role. The candidate must be passionate about teaching and training and be creative and willing to develop further networks.
De Montfort University is committed to providing a working and learning environment that enriches lives, supports individuals to reach their full potential, and where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. As an educator and shaper of society, the university aims to role model positive behaviours both within the university and to reflect the diversity of the wider community. As such we welcome applications from all potential candidates.
