Main duties and responsibilities:

Directorate: The Registry Services Directorate comprises responsibility for the administration of the student journey from registration to graduation and consists of the following functions: student records, quality assurance, UKVI compliance, timetabling, examinations, awards and graduations, and student casework.

Role: De Montfort University is seeking an experienced and highly organised person to supervise a small team within the student records office. They will oversee the work of a team in dealing with the management of records relating to partnership students. You will lead and provide guidance to the partnerships team on all administrative aspects of the student lifecycle, including admissions, registration, maintenance of student records, re-registration, assessment, and progression for all partners and their associated programmes. You will contribute to continuous improvements as well as potential solutions, working collaboratively with colleagues across the university. Provide support and guidance to the team and ensure that there is full documentation material for all student lifecycle activity involving partners. You will build and establish close working relationships with the BI team, SPS, and other colleagues in D&T to enable the university to deliver high-quality internal and external data returns. Work closely with the Global Partnerships Office, Faculties, and Academic Quality in supporting partnership activity and ensuring that partners are supported in complying with the university's data processes and requirements. You will support in embedding a culture of student data quality across the team. Ensure your team are given clear information and objectives as part of their appraisal process and that these are monitored on an ongoing basis. Engage in sector-wide networks to build contacts and awareness of student administrative developments within the sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the management of student data across our Collaborative Partners, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with institutional processes.
  • Guide and support colleagues on data quality, deadlines, and system usage, providing guidance for all student records related processes and data as they relate to partnerships.
  • Play a key role in the development of system functionality, identifying process and system improvements and supporting the testing and deployment of system developments.

Ideal Candidate: You will be proactive, collaborative in your approach with a strong understanding of partnership relationships, student records systems, and data quality standards. You should have experience in working on student records systems, handling student data, process improvement initiatives, developing and supporting systems training, and working across teams to implement change. Excellent communication skills are essential, along with a strategic mindset and the ability to influence and support others effectively. A commitment to inclusion, environmental sustainability, and continuous learning is expected, along with the confidence to represent the university positively both internally and externally.

There are two roles – One permanent and one fixed term contract for 6 months (secondments welcome with line management agreement).
