De Montfort University (DMU) is a forward-thinking institution driven by innovation, inclusion, and a deep commitment to delivering outstanding digital services. Since the launch of our Digital Transformation Strategy in 2022, we’ve implemented major infrastructure upgrades, embedded user-centred design practices, and laid the foundations for a modern, agile university. This transformation is ongoing, and with so much still to achieve, it’s a particularly exciting time to join us. At DMU, you’ll contribute to meaningful, lasting change that supports staff and students alike, all within a vibrant and ambitious university community.
The Digital and Technology Directorate plays a central role in reshaping how the university delivers digital value. We are modernising our services through cloud adoption, reduction of technical debt, and the implementation of a product operating model—still novel in higher education but increasingly vital to public sector innovation. Our approach combines agile delivery with operational excellence, ensuring services are both resilient and user-focused. From AI and automation to endpoint management and cyber security, the Directorate is focused on creating streamlined, future-ready services that support academic and professional excellence across DMU.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join our Productivity & Collaboration team. In this role, you will help support the university’s Microsoft 365 environment and the communication platforms that enable our staff and students to connect and collaborate every day. Working closely with senior specialists, you will assist with the administration and smooth running of services such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Exchange Online, OneDrive, and related telephony systems. You will help manage messaging and communication technologies, including voice gateways, email gateways, and cloud telephony, ensuring our digital services remain reliable, secure, and user‑focused. You will provide user support, resolve issues, maintain documentation, and contribute to service improvements across our collaboration and communication systems. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power Platform, security tools, and modern communication technologies. This is a hybrid role, with regular on‑campus presence expected to meet operational requirements.
You’ll be part of a collaborative and supportive digital community where innovation, creativity, and continuous improvement are encouraged. DMU’s values — Collaborative, Compassionate, Creative, and Community‑minded — are embedded in everything we do, and we are looking for someone who reflects these behaviours.
De Montfort University is committed to providing a working and learning environment that enriches lives, supports individuals to reach their full potential, and where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. As an educator and shaper of society, the university aims to role model positive behaviors both within the university and to reflect the diversity of the wider community. As such we welcome applications from all potential candidates.
