De Montfort University (DMU) is seeking an experienced and engaging leader to join our Estates & Facilities Directorate in an exciting new role as Associate Director of Campus Services. This is a strategic leadership role with responsibility for a broad portfolio of campus‑facing services including health & safety, space planning, sustainability and key operational services. You will bring together colleagues across cleaning, portering, waste, mailroom, space planning, sustainability and contractor management, to form a high‑performing Campus Services team focused on ensuring an excellent student, staff and visitor experience. As a member of the Estates senior leadership team you will ensure our services are safe, efficient, and aligned with DMU’s transformation programmes and Estates Masterplan. You will also play a key role in embedding smart technologies and digital solutions to enhance service delivery and user experience. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our campus environment and contribute to the university’s strategic ambitions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate campus‑facing services including health & safety, space planning, sustainability and key operational functions.
  • Ensure services are safe, efficient, and aligned with DMU’s transformation programmes and Estates Masterplan.
  • Embed smart technologies and digital solutions to enhance service delivery and user experience.

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership across campus services and estates operations.
  • Strong knowledge of health & safety, statutory compliance, and environmental legislation.
  • Degree‑level education in a relevant discipline (e.g., Estates Management, Facilities, Business Administration) or equivalent experience.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body is desirable.
  • Experience in space planning and the use of digital tools to transform services (e.g., IWMS, BIM).
  • Exceptional communication skills, stakeholder engagement, and team development skills.
