You will be responsible for maintaining the area to provide a clean and safe working environment, be expected to work both independently and as an effective member of a team of technicians, liaising closely with specialist academic staff. Much of the work goes forward to represent the university at exhibitions and fashion shows so must be to the highest standard.
To be successful, you will have thorough knowledge of garment construction across a variety of styles and fabric types. You will be proficient in specialist Contour Fashion construction methods. Industry experience is essential. You must have the ability to demonstrate a range of practical Fashion processes and support students in safe use of professional machinery and equipment (i.e. generic and specialist sewing machines, over lockers etc.). Good eye for detail, highly organised with excellent communication skills and ability to deliver a high quality of experience to our students.
