Are you organised, enthusiastic and the sort of person who enjoys getting things done?
We’re looking for a Marketing & Events Assistant to join our friendly team at de Mellow & Co, supporting our Marketing & Events Coordinator with the day-to-day work that keeps our marketing activity and events running smoothly.
This is a hands-on role and would suit someone at the beginning of their marketing career who wants to learn, get involved and build practical experience across marketing, social media and events.
About us:
de Mellow & Co is a family-run financial planning business, founded in 1990. We help individuals, families and business owners plan for their futures, making financial advice feel more approachable and easier to understand.
We’re proud of the relationships we have built within our local communities and marketing plays an important part in helping us stay connected with existing clients, reach new people and bring the de Mellow & Co brand to life.
What you'll be doing:
Working closely with our Marketing & Events Coordinator, you'll provide practical support across our marketing activities and events.
No two weeks will look exactly the same, but your responsibilities are likely to include:
- Helping organise client events, seminars, and community activities
- Researching venues, suppliers and event ideas
- Making bookings and liaising with venues and suppliers
- Managing guest lists, invitations, RSVPs and event information
- Preparing name badges, signage, handouts, event packs and other materials
- Helping set up and pack down events – including being there on the day when required
- Ordering and keeping track of marketing materials, merchandise and stationery
- Updating marketing databases, spreadsheets and contact lists
- Supporting the preparation and scheduling of social media content
- Coordinating print, promotional items and other marketing supplies
There will be plenty of opportunities to contribute ideas, but this is first and foremost a practical support role. We're looking for someone who is just as happy updating a spreadsheet, stuffing event bags or chasing an RSVP list as they are helping create a social media post.
Who we're looking for:
- You don't necessarily need lots of previous marketing experience. We're more interested in finding someone with the right attitude who is keen to learn.
You’ll ideally be:
- Highly organised with good attention to detail
- Reliable and comfortable taking responsibility for getting tasks finished
- Happy working through a busy to-do list and juggling different priorities
- Confident communicating with colleagues, clients and external suppliers
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and learning new systems
- Interested in marketing, social media and events
- Friendly, positive and willing to get stuck in
- Comfortable working independently once you've been shown what to do
- Someone who notices the little things and takes pride in doing a job properly
- A team player who is happy to help wherever needed
- Experience with Canva, social media platforms, email marketing or event organisation would be useful, but isn't essential.
What you’ll get
- This is a great opportunity to build broad, practical marketing experience within a growing business
- You'll work alongside our Marketing & Events Coordinator and wider team, learning how marketing works within a professional financial planning business while getting involved in real campaigns and events from the outset.
- You'll also be joining a supportive team where collaboration matters and where we're keen to help people develop.
